Spoonville: How to Make Your Own Spoonville Village
What is Spoonville?
You may have seen Spoonvilles popping up around the neighbourhood and wondered what its all about? Well during these times it is more important than ever to take care of your mental health and a sense of community and togetherness is one of the best ways to do so.
Spoonvilles are a super fun, creative, interactive way to be involved in your community in a Covid safe way.
With communities locked down and unable to get together themselves, there are no rules for Spoony people and so Spoonville populations everywhere are growing and growing.
How can I make a Spoonville Village?
Making a Spoony person is fun for all the family and a great activity to keep children and grown-ups busy and it’s lovely to see the smiles on the little ones faces when they visit a Spoonville near them!
What Art & Craft Supplies You'll Need
Arbee Craft have all the supplies to create the most fantastic, diverse, colourful spoony people. You can choose from:
Wooden spoons
Joggle eyes
Chenille sticks
Felt
Sequins and scatters
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Markers
How To Make Your Spoonville Village
Step 1: Prepare your wooden spoons - Start by using markers to draw faces, clothing, and other details onto the wooden spoons. You can create a variety of characters, such as people, animals, or even monsters. Be creative and have fun with it!
Step 2: Attach joggle eyes - Use a hot glue gun to attach joggle eyes onto the spoons, giving them more personality and character.
Step 3: Create accessories - Use felt and chenille sticks to create accessories for your spoon characters. You can make hats, scarves, bows, and other items to personalize each spoon.
Step 4: Add embellishments - Use sequins, scatters, and other decorations to add some sparkle and shine to your spoon characters. You can glue on sequins to create jewelry or use scatters to create glittery accents.
Step 5: Build the village - Once you have created several spoon characters, you can arrange them into a spoonville village. This can be done on a sidewalk on in your own backyard. Simply place your spoons into the ground.
Happy Crafting,
Arbee
